S.F. No. 3292 (245A.03, subdivision 10) codifies and revises the child-adult capacity ratios for licensed group family day care providers. Instead of setting an explicit limit on the number of school-age children, under school-age children, toddlers, and infants, the revised ratios define the total capacity for a provider, the total number of children under school age (under 5 years old), and the total number of infants. Accordingly, a provider may serve any combination of children under 5 years old up to the permitted maximum, provided that they do not exceed the permitted number of infants.
