Section 1. Obedience to work zone flaggers. A peace officer may issue a citation to a driver if the peace officer has probable cause to believe that the person has violated a work zone law. A peace officer has probable cause if: (1) a qualified work zone flagger has reported a violation that includes a description of the vehicle and the time of the incident; (2) the person is operating the vehicle described in the report; and (3) it is within the four-hour period following the time of the incident. A work zone flagger is qualified to report an incident if the flagger has completed the specified training. Clarifying changes are made. This section is effective on August 1, 2019.
