Section 1. Telecommuter Forward! Certification.

Subdivision 1.  Definition.  Provides a definitions of political subdivision to mean a city, township, or county.

Subdivision 2.  Certification. Allows a political subdivision to apply to the commissioner of  employment and economic development for certification as a Telecommuter Forward! Community.

Subdivision 3.  Resolution.  Requires a political subdivision seeking a Telecommuter Forward! certification to adopt a resolution that:  (1) declares the political subdivision's support and commitment to promote the availability of telecommuting options; and (2) provides for a single point of contact for coordinating telecommuting opportunities. Specifies the responsibilities for the contact, including but not limited to, coordination and communication regarding provision of broadband service within the community.
