Section 1. Statewide testing. (a) Directs the commissioner to establish a testing period as late as possible each school year. The schedule must be posted at least two years before the beginning of the testing period. Strikes obsolete language.
(m) Modifies the grade levels for which the commissioner must establish empirically derived benchmarks on assessments from grades 3 through 8 to grades 6 through 8.
Effective Date. Makes the section effective for testing calendars in the 2021-2022 school year and later.
