S.F. No. 1935 directs the commissioner of human services to appoint a task force that will engage the human services, education, public health, juvenile justice, and criminal justice systems to create trauma-informed policy and practices for these systems to implement, with the goal of reducing adverse childhood experiences. The task force will also identify social determinants of the health and well-being of families and recommend solutions that eliminate racial and ethnic disparities in this area. The task force must report its results and any policy recommendations to the legislature annually by January 15.
