1.1Senator Housley moved to amend Senate Resolution No. 15 as follows (...):
1.2Page 2, after line 9, insert:
1.3"WHEREAS, the citizens of Minnesota place their trust in elected officials to represent
1.4their interests, uphold the rule of law, and maintain the integrity of public office; and
1.5WHEREAS, the actions of public officials should always reflect the values of honesty,
1.6transparency, and respect for the rights and property of all individuals; and
1.7WHEREAS, any actions by elected officials that undermine public trust or violate the
1.8law, whether in their personal or professional conduct, can erode public trust and harm the
1.9reputation of the legislative body as a whole; and
1.10WHEREAS, the Minnesota Senate is committed to ensuring that its members adhere to
1.11the highest ethical standards and uphold the principles of justice; and
1.12WHEREAS, when questions arise regarding the conduct of a legislator, those questions
1.13must be taken seriously, and appropriate measures must be considered to ensure that the
1.14actions of any one individual do not reflect negatively on the legislative process or institution;
1.15and"

1.17"BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the Senate of the State of Minnesota that it reaffirms
1.18its commitment to holding all members of the Minnesota Senate accountable for their actions
1.19to ensure that public offices are used to serve the people with integrity, respect for the law,
1.20and dedication to the principles of justice and fairness."
