S.F. 3514 modifies the assigned student responsibility specified under state law for purposes of calculating the state grant stipend. Under current law, assigned student responsibility is at least 50 percent of the cost of attendance.
This bill reduces the assigned student responsibility as follows: 47 percent in fiscal year 2019; 44 percent in fiscal years 2020 and 2021; 41 percent in fiscal years 2022 and 2023; and 38 percent thereafter.
Effective date. July 1, 2018.
