SF 2041 expands a property tax exemption for property rented by charter schools to include property rented from a private person. Under current law, the rented property must be owned by: (i) a nonprofit corporation; (ii) a public school district, college, or university; (iii) a private academy, college, university, or seminary of learning; (iv) a church; or (v) the state or political subdivision of the state.  

Effective beginning with assessment year 2019.
