S.F. 1943 amends a 2009 law which established the Central Iron Range Sanitary Sewer Board. Both sections 1 and 2 reflect a change in name for the Iron Range museum, now known as the “Minnesota Discovery Center” (previously known as “Ironworld”).
Section 2 modifies membership requirements for the board as follows: (1) the member appointment by the Iron Range Resources and Rehabilitation Board is exempt from the residency requirement; and (2) board members may be a member of the governing board of the municipality which appoints the member.
Both sections 1 and 2 require local approval. Section 1 is effective following the day after timely compliance with local approval procedures. Section 2 is effective retroactively from December 27, 2003 once timely compliance with local approval procedures is complete. All board appointments made since are deemed ratified and confirmed.
