Author: Senator Jim Abeler

Prepared By: Liam Monahan, Senate Analyst (651/296-1791)

Date: March 8, 2017

SF 1729 modifies how revenue from fines assessed to home care providers is used.

Section 1 (144A.474, subdivision 11, paragraph (i)) requires the commissioner to use the revenue from collected fines imposed on home care providers, when the revenue is appropriated by the legislature, for special projects recommended by the licensed home care provider advisory council.

Section 2 (144A.4799, subdivision 3) modifies the duties of the Licensed Home Care Provider Advisory Council by requiring it to make annual recommendations directly to the legislature concerning the appropriation of revenue from collected fines imposed on home care providers.
