Under current law, the vast majority of sentence-to-service offenders are covered under Minnesota Statutes, section 3.739 (Injury or Death of a Conditionally Released Inmate). This bill expands the eligibility for claims against the state for injury or death to all persons working in a sentence-to-service capacity, including offenders working to pay any court-ordered statutorily authorized correctional fees.
