Chapter 68 transfers $30 million from the general fund to the natural disaster contingency account. The account is the funding mechanism used to make prompt payment of costs arising from state and federally declared natural disasters without the need for the governor to call a special session to make emergency appropriations. Money in the account does not cancel and is available until spent.
